Downtown Engagement | July 25th, 2020
There is something about the rooftop vibes in the summer in Texas. I love hearing love stories about how couples met in downtown Dallas. It holds near and dear to my heart being able to capture couples in the city that I love and live in. City engagements are the best engagements.
Jaci and Jeremy first met at Louie’s Piano Bar in Deep Ellum. A random night Jaci went out with her girlfriends and she saw Jeremy playing piano and she requested the band to play “American Girl” by Tom Petty. Jaci requested the song three times and every time Jeremy would crumple up the request and throw it on the ground. Jeremy didn’t want to play it, but Jaci thinks it’s because he didn’t know it.
At the end of the night, Jaci’s friend went up to Jeremy to ask why he didn’t play any of the songs they requested. Jeremy yelled over to Jaci to come to the piano where he apologized and went on to play two or three of her favorite songs. From then on, Jeremy continued to swoon over her. Jaci ended up moving to Colorado where she thought the relationship would fizzle out and soon, to her surprise, Jeremy flew there that next weekend and kept coming to visit her. They were never apart more than two weeks.
Jaci’s favorite time in the relationship was when they did long distance and Jeremy would sing her to sleep on the telephone. His favorite song he would sing was, “Trying to get to you”, by Elvis Presley.
