ABOUT THE COUPLE: Carissa + Ed

Although Carissa and Ed met in college, it wasn’t until three years ago that they decided to rekindle their friendship. I don’t know about you, but I think that that was the best decision they ever could have made!

Need more of the tea?!

Since having mutual friends, they would occasionally run into each other at parties or around the Washington State University campus. It was never much more than that though! However, after Carissa decided to take a job in Orange County, she found that Ed has also just moved for a job opportunity as well.

The stars aligned and they reconnected on social media.

Since they didn’t know anyone else in their newfound home, Carissa asked Ed if he wanted to hang out so that they could be, “lonely together.” That, my friends, is where their love story began!

Want to know a little fun fact?

Carissa and I were actually sorority sisters together! Since I am an Arizona-based photographer, it was super easy to make the quick five-hour drive to So. Cal to capture this wedding at Altisma Winery in Temecula, California… Plus, she is a fellow “Coug” alum!

NOT TO MENTION THAT THEY GOT MARRIED ON THE BEST DAY OF THE WHO YEAR… MY BIRTHDAY; now we are officially bonded for life on November 12!

WEDDING DAY DETAILS FOR THIS MAGICAL WEDDING AT ALTISMA WINERY IN TEMECULA, CALIFORNIA

GETTING READY

The couple got ready at an Airbnb just a few minutes down the street from the winery called “Vaquero“.

Let me tell you how insanely beautiful and big this house was. It was a 5-acre private property in Southern California that fit all the Bride and Groom’s bridal party and their significant others. It sleeps 16 people with has 360-degree views overlooking the valley.

A. DREAM.

The infinity pool, outside bar area, and mini putt-putt golf area sold me instantly.

We started the day at this Airbnb with getting ready shots of the bride and the groom and the bridal parties. It was the perfect place for photos before the venue!

THE VENUE: Altisma Winery in Temecula

Altisma Winery is one of the newer wineries in Temecula since opening in 2017.

It has a mix of Spanish and Modern and may have just made it into my top ten favorite venues I have ever been able to photograph. Seriously, it was beautiful.

Because they were already wine members at Altisma, this venue was already special to them!

The winery itself recently decided to host Weddings this year which WINE NOT! The views are spectacular! The Winery has a restaurant, tasting rooms, open-air decks, a wine cellar, outdoor lawn areas for events, and more.

The property had both a bridal and groom suite where the bridal parties lounged before the ceremony sipping on local wine. The winery also provided full house catering and not only was the wine amazing, the food blew everyone out of the water.

Wedding Design & Party

One thing about Washington State Alumni Cougars, they sure know how to throw a raging party.

There was a live band and one of the band members was one of Carissa’s family friends growing up. If you are deciding between a Dj or a Live Band, if your budget allows it, DEFINITELY HIRE A LIVE BAND!

Fiore Flowers designed a beautiful minimalist floral arch arrangement for their ceremony which was later used for their table centerpieces. The Ceremony arch was very simple and modern looking with white roses and green leaves all wrapped around. It was gorgeous looking again at the vineyards in the backyard and didn’t look too busy.
