Surprise Proposal | October 15th, 2020
On October 15, 2020, Caroline was soon to find out that her hike to Taggart Lake in the Grand Teton National Park was going to make her a soon to be Mrs. Taggart Lake hike is one of the most beautiful iconic hikes in he Grand Teton National Park. It is about 1.5 miles hike in towards to the lake with a view that you can see all the Teton mountains.
As Caroline and Patrick got to the end of the hike, they stepped down to the water front and started admiring the view. Suddenly, Patrick tapped Caroline on the shoulder and when Caroline turned around, Patrick was kneeling down on one knee asking Caroline to marry him. Caroline’s face melted into her hands with a response of, “Are you serious?”.
Caroline and Patrick met growing up in their small in Louisiana. There families were friends, they spent many high school dances, parties, events together.
Now their fairytale story, wasn’t as perfect as it seemed. They weren’t always together in high school nor college. There was a period they did not speak for six years.
Fast forward to the night before Thanksgiving 2018. Patrick locked eyes with Caroline from across a local bar in their home town. First time they had laid eyes on each other in years. They spent the whole night talking, drinking, catching up. They made things official the following February and have been together ever since. I can’t wait to live happily ever after with the boy who stole my heart all those years ago.
Caroline knew in 3rd grade that the boy she was dared to kiss on the sideline at a football practice would become her future husband. She was his first kiss and now his last.
