Yosemite National Park is breathtaking from the moment you drive into the park! It is the ultimate bucket list destination for adventure engagement sessions or elopements. Yosemite has the beauty of mountains, cliffs, waterfalls, and forests.  The park has the famous landmark of “half dome” that people visit from all over the world to see and capture the famous Yosemite adventure engagement pictures in front of. You are guaranteed a gorgeous view anywhere inside the park you go to. Here are just some of my favorite places to shoot inside the park for a Yosemite adventure engagement session.

Sunset or Sunrise? Or Both?

Yosemite is, naturally, a very busy national park where no matter what time of day you visit, there will always be visitors. Pretty much only with sunrise shoots, you get a little bit of a break from the tourists. Some of the most popular locations are a little bit calmer in the mornings and you get more of an intimate feel just you and the couple. It might be overwhelming to choose one location to shoot at for either sunset or sunrise. Most locations inside the park are not close together so if you have time to enjoy a sunset and a sunrise at two different locations, you can experience how the sun rises and sets against the mountains and the different colors it gives off. You’ve traveled too far and long to experience just one location at sunrise or sunset. Make an adventure out of our trip and explore more!

Helpful tips when visiting Yosemite

• The closest airport to fly into is Fresno, California.
• Fall and Spring are the best seasons for elopements, weddings, or Yosemite adventure engagement in the park.
• Make sure to download a Google offline map because there will be no cell service.
• Pack snacks, food, and water because there are no places to eat once inside the park.
• Make sure you have enough gas when entering the park (no gas stations once inside the park).
• Bring all your clothes, makeup, and anything else needed to get ready for a photo shoot in the car.
