Best East Coast Winter Elopement Location

Elope in Winter on the East Coast

Looking to elope on the east coast? Can’t decide where? The white mountains in New Hampshire are one of my favorite east coast winter elopement locations. New Hampshire in the winter is absolutely charming. It is a magical part of the country where you can escape and have a romantic getaway just hours away from the city. During the winter, there are multiple ski resorts, ice skating rinks, hikes, breweries, and much more to explore in all of the surrounding towns in the white mountains.

Activities to Do in the White Mountains

The white mountains are called the white mountains because they are the highest peaks from the coast that have snow on them. In the winter, people from the big cities nearby like Boston like to escape by visiting the white mountains for a weekend of outdoor activities. Here are just some activities people like to come to do in the winter:

  1. Skiing or snowboarding
  2. Ice Castles
  3. Hiking
  4. Breweries
  5. Ice Skating
  6. Dog Sledding
  7. Cross Country Skiing
  8. Renting a cabin with friends/family
  9. Snowmobiling
  10. Horse Drawn Sleigh-Ride
  11. Snow Tubing
  12. Winter Ziplining

Where to Stay in the White Mountains

The main town surrounding the white mountains is Connaway and North Connaway. There are not a lot of big-name hotels in the area. People either rent cabins, stay at a bed and breakfast, a ski resort hotel, or stay at a local Inn. There are a lot of affordable options and anywhere you stay you can still feel the small-town winter vibe. It is the best east coast winter elopement location if you are wanting to elope in the mountains and escape major crowds like at the bigger winter destination locations.

Elopement Adventures on the East Coast

A lot of outdoor lovers want to get married in a location that is meaningful to them or have an adventure or experience that they will always remember on their wedding day forever. If it’s a hike to a cliff, a mountain top with a gorgeous view, or a frozen waterfall, the white mountains have all those locations.
