EXPERIENCING THE MOST OF MOAB IN SOUTHERN UTAH

Moab, Utah itself is located in the southwest portion of the state.

It has some of the most epic red rock canyons and incredible landscapes. The sunrises and sunsets here are absolutely unreal. Honestly, they might just be one of my favorite reasons why to elope in Southern Utah.

Getting to Moab from Arizona

Moab is one of the farthest “red rock” cities from Arizona. Although it takes about eight hours to drive from the Phoenix area to the town of Moab, Utah, it is 100% worth the drive.

Because it is excluded and tucked away in the red rock mountains, I prefer it over most Southern Utah spots! Along the way, you pass through Monument Valley and many other popular red rock destinations! You can make a whole adventure out of it.

If you aren’t loving the thought of road tripping, these are the closest airports surrounding Moab:

There are a lot of destinations you can visit along your route to Moab from any direction you start at. You can easily make a trip out of it and visit more than one national park in the region and explore Southern Utah.

Southern Utah is such a big area to explore, you can’t even touch a sliver of it in a week.

Hotel Accommodations:

Here is a list of just some of my favorite places to stay in Moab. Make sure to book your travel ahead of advance because hotel accommodations do book out fast during busier months.

HAVING AN ADVENTURE ELOPEMENT IN DEAD HORSE STATE PARK

One reason why I love this park is that there are a lot of different areas you can go to be more secluded and private.

There is no area in the park that is a bad area for photos. The whole park has a very similar geographic landscape all around. During sunset, when the sun goes over the rocks, it starts to give off more of a purple color against the red rocks which makes it jaw-dropping!

One of my favorite reasons why I love elopements is we get to create an intimate day ANY WAY you want it.

Most couples want to say their vows somewhere private with each other. They want to capture it all on camera to document them committing themselves to each other. It is always fun getting to explore the area with couples and see them fall in love with each other all over again. Another pro to Dead Horse State Park is that you don’t really have to hike far into epic canyon views.

Dead Horse State Park is the perfect place for elopements if you are wanting a place to say your vows, have a little ceremony, and take epic pictures with the red rocks!
