Although I am based in Arizona, I always am so excited to shoot destination photo sessions outside the comfort of my desert home. Without a doubt, this Mount Tamalpais San Francisco Engagement was a dream and a blast all rolled into one!

MEET THE COUPLE LEADING UP TO THEIR
MOUNT TAMALPAIS SAN FRANCISCO ENGAGEMENT
Spoiler Warning: Dalton and Leticia are probably some of my favorite people EVER.
They are both from Arizona and grew up together and were pretty good friends. However, it wasn’t until their senior year and into college that they started dating! After Leticia moved back home from college, they took a bit of a break.
However, they just couldn’t stay away from each other and have recently celebrated six years.
Together they bought a house, got a dog, moved to the Bay Area, and GOT ENGAGED!
SAN FRANCISCO ENGAGEMENT SESSION ON THE TOP OF MOUNT TAMALPAIS
Dalton and Leticia really wanted to capture their engagement session in San Francisco. As I mentioned, San Fran is where they live currently, and the city is somewhere where their love truly bloomed. They wanted a location showing off the California rolling hills with the backdrop of the ocean. I wanted to do everything in my power to give them exactly that.
That is when Mount Tamalpais enters the chat.
Mount Tamalpais is a gorgeous location just a 45-minute escape away from the city. It almost feels like you are on top of the mountains with a 360 view of the Bay Area.

CHOOSING WHAT TO WEAR
Leticia and Dalton both nailed their outfit combos for a golden fall evening.
They first started off with a Fall casual outfit look then changed into a dressier option.
In their first outfit, Leticia wore a white bodysuit and a cream shacket. Dalton wore a black casual jacket with jeans. Then, for their second outfit, Leticia wore a gorgeous burnt orange colored dress from Revolve with heels while Dalton changed into a white shirt with a beige-colored suit.
I always tell my clients, “Wear something that makes you feel, YOU”.
I love offering the opportunity for an outfit change throughout the session. This gives you the opportunity to get a few different looks and feels with your session while maximizing our time together. Many couples opt for one dressier option and one more casual option.
NOTE: If you decide to change, prepare for an adventure. You may need to change in your car or a bush depending on your location.
MY FAVORITE TIPS FOR COUPLES DECIDING WHAT TO WEAR:
Pick something you feel comfortable in
Make sure you can move around in it
Take the location into consideration
PICKING OUT THE LOCATION
As I mentioned, this location was THOUGHT OUT to the max.
Mount Tamalpais State Park has a 360 view of the San Francisco Bay on a peak just 45 minutes north of the city. It was a very windy road before you get to the top, but the views were worth the drive up. There are a couple of parking lots up top that are free where you can park and walk out and see the views. It was such a beautiful location for engagements with big boulders, ocean views, and tall grass of rolling hills. It was just far enough away from the city where we could escape the crowds.
SIDE NOTE:
Although they love the Bay Area and opted for a Mount Tamalpais San Francisco Engagement Session, Arizona is home for them. So, Arizona is where they want their wedding to be! After all, it is where their love story started and where they grew up.
They are planning their wedding at the Ice House wedding venue in Downtown Phoenix! I mean, have you seen The Ice House?!?!?!?! Holy Moly! The Ice House in Phoenix is one of my favorite venues in Arizona and I am so stoked to capture their wedding next year and get to hang out with them again!
