Getting Married at Sunset Ranch in Oahu, Hawaii

Can it get any better than celebrating these two getting married in Hawaii?
Honestly, I am still swooning. To witness the love Adam + Maddie have for each other was simply unreal!

When Adam and Maddie were talking about wedding plans, they were originally wanting to elope somewhere just the two of them. They started toying with the idea of a destination at Sunset Ranch Hawaii, it turned out that family members really wanted to celebrate and have a wedding for them.

Adam is from a big Philippino family and Maddie is from the Midwest.

With all said and done, both families agreed they wanted to fly out to Hawaii with them and celebrate their getting married and do the whole Hawaiian Wedding thing!

Sunset Ranch Hawaii Wedding Venue

Sunset Ranch is located on the North Shore of the island of Oahu.

It sits on 30 acres of land with ocean and tropical forest views. The venue has a lot of different options for guests for getting married on their property. There is an indoor barn area, bride & groom suites, a botanical garden, a big open meadow, a pond, and more.

All the wedding guests including the wedding vendors stayed on Waikiki Beach where the couple provided everyone with a shuttle bus to and from the wedding venue.

HOWEVER, PLEASE NOTE that the Venue was about an hour from Waikiki Beach.

Specific Wedding Day Details

Undoubtedly, wedding florals in Hawaii are always my favorite!

I love all the native, tropical flowers that Hawaii has to offer and the colors are usually more bright like greens, oranges, yellows, reds, and pink. Without a doubt, their wedding florist crushed Maddie’s dream inspiration for her ceremony altar.

All the wedding guests who came for the wedding ended up making a full vacation of it. The wedding couple planned events for the visitors. For example, a couple of days before the wedding, they planned a Lūʻau if friends or family who were visiting wanted to attend and meet and greet more people during their wedding week.

Similarly, on the Friday before the wedding, there was a bridal brunch and all the girls attending the wedding were invited too.

During their reception, they brought out fire dancers and another performer who played the ukulele, and a dancer who taught the wedding party how to hula.

It was such a great activity to get the wedding guests out on the dance floor.

The couple served his and her drinks and on the napkins, they even wrote fun facts about their love that nobody knew before, which was a fun little touch to read about.

A Hawaii Destination Photographers Top Reasons to Have a Destination Wedding in Hawaii

Oahu, Hawaii is my favorite Hawaiian Islands and is also one of the best to host your destination wedding!

To me, the beaches are bigger and better (more white sand beaches), a lot more activities like hikes are available all throughout the island, and more land to explore. It’s an island where if you don’t rent a car, riding is really easy to navigate.

Since there is a lot more to do on Oahu, you can never get bored!

5 Reasons to Get Married in Hawaii:

  • Gorgeous Native Tropical Flowers & Palm Trees
  • Enjoy the Local Hawaiian Music that Makes You Feel and Vibe in Paradise
  • Travel to Paradise with Your Closet Friends + Family
  • The Beauty of the Sunsets Overlooking the Pacific Ocean
  • Stay Longer for Your Honeymoon

Tips for Planning a Hawaiian Destination Wedding

Firstly, make sure to hire a planner who can help you with all the wedding details if you do not live locally. It is so much easier having help from a local planner who can give you all the recommendations and vendor referrals vs trying to do everything yourself.

Don’t stress yourself out. Instead, have someone help you design your dream wedding from afar!

A Hawaiian wedding is always a HECK YESSS for the books! Every guest who attends a destination wedding, especially in Hawaii, always raves about it and it’s an experience for everyone that is talked about forever!
