This Blue Ridge Mountain wedding in Asheville, NC was dreamyyyy.
The Shootout Society wanted to put together a styled shoot that featured “dusty tones of blue, sage, and cream meeting organic florals” and they did just that. The Gathering Co designed the shoot and created the most stunning floral pieces + arrangements full of oranges, blues, cream, and lots of pampas grass. They filled up a few of their pieces with white & light blue baby’s breath, which I’m not sure I’ve ever seen done before for a wedding but am now in loveee with.
Chestnut Ridge Wedding Venue
We shot with our couple, Ashley & Willie, at Chestnut Ridge, a wedding & event venue in the mountains of North Carolina. The outside of the venue is painted a gorgeous white with black doors, and is full of super rustic wood paneling. The inside is filled with natural light, and Ashley and Willie looked bombbb posing for us on the wedding ceremony benches.
If you’re considering tying the knot at Chestnut Ridge, here are a few things you’ll want to know:
- They provide planning services as well
- Elopement-specific packages are available
- Both a planning-only as well as an all-inclusive wedding package are offered to fit your needs
- The venue is handicap accessible
- Guest capacity is up to 300
- The event space is fully indoors – no outdoor event spaces
- Offers a spacious bridal suite + a groom’s den for getting ready
- They have a whole network of Asheville wedding vendors to help you out
Dusty Blue Wedding Ideas
After we photographed them at the ceremony site, Ashley changed into a gorgeous dusty blue ruffled dress with floral patterns decorating it. The Gathering Co set up the most beautiful reception, full of beige, pink, and orange flowers, colored drinking goblets, blue napkins, and unique stationery + dinner menus and place cards. The cake, designed by 50/Fifty: The Art of Dessert, was super simple: white frosting with light beige/pink streaks, and the best part was the decor that appeared to be geodes with pink gemstones. One of the coolest cakes I’ve ever seen.
If you’re loving this color scheme as much as I am, here are some simple ways you can incorporate the gorgeous dusty blue color into your own big day:
- Goblets/drinking glasses
- Napkins for your guests
- The font colors/paper color on your stationery (invites, RSVP’s, dinner menu’s, place cards)
- Candles
- Plates
- Couches/furniture
Blue Ridge Mountain Wedding Photos
We ended the evening with some sunset couples portraits in the mountains and Ashley & Willie killed it – this dusty blue was definitely Ashley’s color. The reception segment of the shoot setup also had some gorgeous dusty blue sofas and a cream-colored couch with velvety pillows. Find similar dusty blue velvet couches here!
This was such a beautiful Blue Ridge mountain wedding and I’m obsessed with the color scheme we got to work with. Who wants to go elope in the mountains with me now?!
